Rio Candleholder
The candle holders are made of ceramics, handcrafted in chamotte stoneware. The clay is fired between two and three times at temperatures ranging from 900 to 1400 degrees. A process during which the object achieves a solidity close to that of stone. It is through assembly work, modeling, sculpting, and different firings that the object is revealed. The clay is an almost “vibrant” material due to its movements between drying and firing, making each piece unique. The curves are irregular and imperfect, and the dimensions may vary slightly.
