About the artist:
Akop Tashchyan is an artist from Los Angeles, CA. He was born January 18, 1949 in Yerevan, Armenia. He migrated to Los Angeles in the early 80’s. Akop, who had a passion for painting since his early childhood, at a young age would take a bus to school and on the bus would pick out a person and sketch them, later giving the person the painted portrait.
Akop’s style can be classified as abstract, with having a twist of modern and fresh take on the world. He was inspired by many great artist including Matisse, Picasso, Ivan Aivazovsky, Rembrandt, Van Gogh. Akop Tashchyan’s painting consists of fine lines, ladies nudes, abstract dog, spider webs, and other unique styles and shapes. He uses charcoal, graphite, marker, pencil, mixed media, and paint (in his earlier works).
